My Review

A couple days ago I did a buddy read of the newest volume of My Noisy Roommate! I had to jog my memory a bit to recall what happened in the previous volumes. It hasn’t been that long, but somehow everything still felt a little hazy.

In this volume, we meet Osuke’s older brother and sister and they appear in an interesting way.. Their introduction adds some backstory to Osuke, especially explaining few of his insecurities. Plus, we get a pretty important reveal from them that definitely seems like it’s setting up the main plotline for the next few volumes. It’s always nice to have something to look forward to!

We’re also introduced to the big bad: the God of Land. They have some Kaguya-from-Naruto vibes, and seem like they’ll be the main antagonist going forward. That said, this volume felt more like a slow burn—it’s clearly paving the way for something bigger, which is necessary, but at times I found it a little over the place. It might be me and the mood (or restlessness) I was in while reading this volume though.

Personally, I enjoy the cases the characters take on and their dynamic during those moments the most—that’s really where the manga shines for me. I’m still super curious to see how everything will develop, especially relationship-wise. I was hoping for a bit more progress in that department by now, though it’s clear things are slowly building up (mostly on Nijio’s side). So yeah, it’s not like nothing’s happening, but I wouldn’t mind things picking up just a bit.

Overall, it's another fun volume that feels like the calm before the storm + the art is gorgeous as always! Looking forward to what’s next!
