Golden Sparkle manga review

A coming-of-age story about two high school guys figuring out love in each other's arms. Himaru Uehara's first year of high school is off to a good start, minus one problem--he keeps having certain dreams. With only his mom and sister at home--and having skipped health class in middle school--he thinks it means there's something wrong with him. Thankfully, a new friend has just the remedy and teaches Himaru exactly how to deal with those dreams! But his solution only leads to more confusion, and the two find themselves navigating feelings they've never felt before.

My Review

So, I loved this manga, but it's not for everyone. For me, it was the perfect blend of gorgeous art, interesting characters, and a sweet and innocent story.

The story centers around two high schoolers, Himari Uehara and Gaku Asada, as they navigate their feelings for each other. It's a story of self-discovery, with Gaku helping Himari realize and understand his emotions and needs, ultimately leading to them falling for each other.

Himari, in my opinion, can be a bit too oblivious at times, which might be a bit odd, since it doesn't feel very realistic that someone might be that naive but I just went with it.

What I loved most about this manga was how relaxing and fluffy it was to read. The story is simple and straightforward, perfect for a one-shot. It doesn't leave you with lingering questions or unresolved plots; it ties everything up nicely, making it a satisfying read. It took me just a few hours to get through, and I could easily see myself picking it up again for a re-read when I need something heartwarming.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a short, sweet, and innocent love story with beautiful art and a touch of self-discovery, this manga is worth a read. It might not be for everyone, especially if you're not into high school romance (which involves spicy scenes) or prefer more complex narratives, but for those who enjoy a good, simple love story, it's a recommendation.
